Societies
Set up your group
Anyone can create a society in a few steps: logo, name, location, and joining rules. Just the basics — you can add a cover photo later.

Clubs
Is this your club?
Many clubs already have a page. If it has no owner, staff or committee can request to manage it — secretary, manager, professional, or captain.
- While a claim is under review, you can create draft events hosted by that club
- Once approved, you run events, members, the plan, and payments like any other group
- Teams sit under the parent club or society. They inherit the plan and cannot host their own events.
Entry fees are separate
The Group Plan is the software subscription. To collect entry fees, the owner connects a Stripe account to the group. Players pay the group — not Golfify. Society and club hosts pay a 1.5% Golfify transaction fee on those entry fees, plus Stripe's fee.

Questions organisers ask
Do members pay to join the group?+
No. Members are always free and unlimited. One owner pays once a year for the whole society or club.
What does the plan actually unlock?+
How many players you can have in a published group event. Free covers 8. Paid plans go 16, 32, 64, or unlimited. You can still build a larger event as a draft.
Can we build a 40-person event on Free?+
Yes, as a draft. You need a plan that covers 40 players to publish it. That is the natural moment to upgrade — start free, grow when the field gets bigger.
What if the secretary leaves?+
The plan and the events stay with the group. Add another admin. The owner can transfer committee work off one phone.
What's the difference between a society and a club?+
A society is a group you create. A club is a Golfify club page you claim and then run. Same events, same plan model.
What are Teams?+
Subgroups for things like Ryder Cup sides or a seniors section. They do not buy a plan or host events — the parent society or club does.
Is this different from paying for my personal Golfify account?+
Yes. A personal plan covers events you host. A group plan covers events the society or club hosts, and any committee admin can run them.
Can we take entry fees?+
Yes, separately. The group owner connects Stripe to the group. Players pay into the group's Stripe account. That is not the same as the Group Plan.
Can we move events we already run onto the group?+
Yes. If fixtures have been sitting on a personal account, you can transfer them onto the society or club — up to 50 at a time — so the group owns the history.
