Golfify Player Payment Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
These Payment Terms and Conditions (“Payment Terms”) govern all financial transactions processed through the Golfify platform (“Platform”), operated by Golfify Ltd (“Golfify”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By making a payment through the Platform, you (“Player” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Payment Terms.
These Payment Terms should be read in conjunction with our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are available on our website.
2. Role of Golfify
2.1 Platform Facilitator
Golfify acts solely as a platform facilitator and payment intermediary. When you enter and pay for a golf tournament or event through the Platform, you are entering into a transaction directly with the tournament host or organiser (“Host”). Golfify is not the seller, provider, or organiser of any tournament or event listed on the Platform.
2.2 No Liability for Events
Golfify does not organise, manage, or control any tournament or event listed on the Platform. We are not responsible for and accept no liability in relation to the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of any tournament or event. The Host is solely responsible for the delivery of the event as described.
3. Payment Structure
3.1 Components of Payment
When you make a payment through the Platform, your total payment comprises the following:
- Event Entry Fee: The fee set by the Host for participation in the tournament or event. This amount is collected on behalf of the Host and passed through to them.
- Golfify Application Fee: A non-refundable service fee charged by Golfify for facilitating the transaction and providing access to the Platform.
3.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you agree to the payment processor’s terms of service in addition to these Payment Terms. Golfify does not store or have direct access to your full payment card details.
3.3 Currency
Payments are processed in the currency displayed at the time of checkout. Where the Event Entry Fee is denominated in a different currency to the Golfify Application Fee, this will be clearly displayed before you confirm your payment. You are responsible for any foreign exchange fees or charges imposed by your bank or card issuer.
4. Refunds and Cancellations
4.1 Event Entry Fee Refunds
Because the Event Entry Fee is collected on behalf of the Host and passed through to them, Golfify cannot process refunds of the Event Entry Fee. Refunds and cancellations of Event Entry Fees are entirely at the discretion of the Host. If you wish to request a refund of your Event Entry Fee, you must contact the Host directly.
Golfify accepts no responsibility for any Host’s refund policy or any decision by a Host to grant or refuse a refund.
4.2 Golfify Application Fee
The Golfify Application Fee is non-refundable in all circumstances, including where a Host grants a refund of the Event Entry Fee, where you choose not to attend the event, or where the event is cancelled or modified by the Host.
4.3 Event Cancellation by Host
If a Host cancels an event, you should contact the Host directly to arrange a refund of the Event Entry Fee. Golfify will use reasonable endeavours to assist in facilitating communication between you and the Host, but we are under no obligation to do so and accept no liability for any failure by the Host to provide a refund.
4.4 Disputes
Any disputes regarding the Event Entry Fee, event quality, or event delivery are strictly between you and the Host. Golfify is not a party to any such dispute and has no obligation to mediate, arbitrate, or resolve disputes between Players and Hosts.
5. Your Obligations
By making a payment through the Platform, you confirm and agree that:
- You are authorised to use the payment method provided.
- All payment information you provide is accurate and complete.
- You understand that the Event Entry Fee is paid to the Host, not to Golfify.
- You understand that refund requests for Event Entry Fees must be directed to the Host.
- You understand that the Golfify Application Fee is non-refundable.
- You have read and understood the event details provided by the Host before making payment.
6. Host Obligations
While this document primarily governs the relationship between Golfify and Players, Players should be aware that Hosts are required under their agreement with Golfify to deliver events substantially as described on the Platform, maintain a clear refund and cancellation policy, respond to Player enquiries in a timely manner, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
However, Golfify does not guarantee that Hosts will meet these obligations and accepts no liability for any Host’s failure to do so.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 Maximum Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Golfify’s total liability to you in connection with any payment made through the Platform shall not exceed the amount of the Golfify Application Fee paid by you in respect of the relevant transaction.
7.2 Exclusions
Golfify shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the cancellation, postponement, or modification of any event by a Host; any failure by a Host to deliver an event as described; any dispute between you and a Host; any unauthorised use of your payment method (except where caused by Golfify’s negligence); or any loss arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
7.3 Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Payment Terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer in relation to a payment made through the Platform, Golfify reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform pending resolution of the dispute. You agree to contact the Host and/or Golfify before initiating a chargeback, as chargebacks may result in additional fees and administrative costs.
9. Data and Privacy
Payment data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation. Golfify does not store full payment card details. All payment data is handled by our PCI-compliant third-party payment processor.
10. Changes to These Terms
Golfify reserves the right to update these Payment Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to you via email or through the Platform. Continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Payment Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Payment Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Payment Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
